I came across this wonderful book on a blog. The book is filled with different handmade craft projects you can do for a cause. The project they are working on right now over at Craft Hope is called Project 9 and what they are doing is making pillowcases for a group called ConKerr Cancer for terminally ill children. Pillowcases!!.....How easy is that?! I am so excited because I just got a new sewing machine from my terrific husband for my birthday and what better way to put it to use.
I picked some fabric up to start making some today. I am not sure how many I will be able to make, but a few is better than none. They requested that the pillowcases be made out of cotton and made with brightly colored fun fabrics. For each pillowcase I will need 3/4 of a yard for the base and 1/3 for the border. So if anyone is interested in joining me or donating some fabric please contact me via email: CarrieShan@ymail.com or leave a comment, the pillowcases will be sent to a coordinator at our/your local hospital. The project ends September 15th.

I have some fabric for you! I will bring it on Wednesday:)
ReplyDeleteYAY! Thanks so much Jenessa, any fabric will help. The pillowcases take a little longer than I thought...but I have 2 done so far and enough fabric for 2-3 more. I am going to try and pick some up at the store each week too....until the deadline.
